Youth Competitive Sports

"if you think its hard meeting new people...try picking up the wrong golf ball"    Jack Lemmon

Sports for our family is huge.... so naturally an essential part of getting our kids settled was getting them on the right teams. Our Daughter is 14 and plays competitive volleyball.. Our son is 10 and plays travel baseball. I look back now and laugh about the first house hunting trip when I asked my husband to drop me off at the local baseball park... I asked any parent I could about what teams there were and what they knew. I am forever thankful for the coach who recommended that I log onto nwgabaseball.org and register and post that we are a player looking for a team I received calls from several coaches within hours...Thanks Coach!!!

I have found that most of the city parks and recreation departments have  both recreational and competitive sports programs for both youth and adults. They also have summer camps and programs that are great if you move in the summer and are looking for something to do.

Feeder Teams

Many area high schools also have  feeder teams for many sports. Rising 6th-8th graders can tryout for the feeder team for the highschool they will be attending. Ask at your middle or high school for information regarding the feeder teams in your area.
